A warm farewell to a wonderful season

Two more weeks, and another season will be over. And we had only just begun…

Things are getting quiet again in our “little village” De Koevoet. All those familiar faces. The fixed rituals. The cappuccino for Gerrit, the glass of rosé in the sun for Bernd, the regular table by the fireplace for Gisela and Peter.

Last week we held our traditional end-of-season party: an evening especially for our berth holders and seasonal pitch holders.

The turnout was great, both Dutch and German. Some guests even drove all the way from Germany to Teroele for it, even though their boat was already in winter storage.

The fire was burning.

Frank played his heart out with a new repertoire. There was dancing.

Jacqueline had put together a delicious buffet.

Many of those present already knew each other, but there are always new people too. Niels and I make a seating plan in advance, hoping that everyone will have a good conversation.

Lively conversations were held at every table. Adventures from the past season were exchanged and boat maintenance tips shared.

In short: a wonderful evening that we look back on with a warm feeling.

What a wonderful business we have – but above all: fantastic guests who embrace what we stand for: personal contact and a love for this special place.
