De Koevoet is centrally situated in a beautiful nature reserve with a great variety of waterfowl birds living on grasland. In addition to watersports, there are numerous opportunities for hiking and cycling. A subtropical indoor swimming-pool, bowling-alley, sauna, tennis courts and mini-golfing are to be found within a radius of 10 kilometres. In the immediate vicinity, there are a sailing-school, a 18-holes golfcourse and a ridingschool/-stable. One can even bring along their own horse for the holidays. All in all, the grounds around De Koevoet are ideal for unwinding and relaxing.

From Afsluitdijk (IJsselmeer Dike): highway A7: Bolsward, Sneek. At Ring Sneek follow directions Lemmer: highway A6. Leave A6 at exit Sint Nicolaasga. Drive through Idskenhuizen, Teroele.

From the direction of Kampen/Zwolle: Highway A6, the direction of Emmeloord- Lemmer-Joure: take the motorway exit at Sint Nicolaasga-Idskenhuizen-Teroele.
